The Concept of Community Hope, Inc.
Kenya, Africa: The Maasai farmers.
Community Hope is committed to increase the food production by demonstrating improved farming methods to the Maasai villages and their surrounding people.
The emphasis is to establish a farm where these methods can be observed by employing educated agricultural technicians to work the farm and educate each farmer. Utilizing the village elders, Community Hope will expose individuals how to increase the yield of their crops and improve the quality of their farm animals. Upon completion of their training, they will take this newly acquired knowledge back to their villages to ensure all will reap the benefits.
As such, Community Hope will commission co-operatives to purchase equipment that will allow farmers to increase the soil-tilling process. These cooperatives will allow the farmers to better market their crops and give them a greater opportunity to contract the sale of their produce to local canneries.
This is not a short-term program and cannot be accomplished in a few weeks. It will require a minimum commitment of five years to insure it is fully implemented. As a result, the ripple effect from this program will be seen for generations to follow.
Community Hope will be the facilitator to oversee the project, including the employment of the skilled technicians needed to expedite the training. Funding will come from grants and from donations by you.
Community Hope will provide more details at the time of request to the granting foundations and individuals making contributions.
